Sustainability
This section presents the 6 fundamental principles that we invite all our guests to follow in order to help protect the environment of Lake Maggiore..
1. Energy Saving and Renewable Energy
Help us reduce energy consumption during your stay:
Switch off the lights when leaving your pitch or accommodation.
Keep windows and doors closed when the heating or air conditioning is operating.
Use electrical appliances responsibly and only when necessary.
2. Water Conservation
Water is a precious resource, especially in the Alpine environment. We kindly ask you to:
Keep water usage to a minimum during showers and when using the toilet.
Turn off the tap while soaping or brushing your teeth.
Report any leaks to our staff immediately.
Use water responsibly when watering plants and green areas (preferably at sunrise or sunset).
Every action helps preserve Ticino's precious water resources.
3. Proper Waste Management and Recycling
Switzerland is a leader in recycling. Let's continue this commitment together:
Separate your waste in the designated collection areas throughout the campsite (glass, paper, PET plastic).
Do not dispose of waste in the sanitary facilities—use only the designated waste bins.
Reduce waste by bringing reusable containers for shopping and supplies.
Avoid single-use products (shampoo sachets, single-dose soap, etc.) during your stay.
Together we embrace the principle of "Leave No Trace"—let's leave no trace of our visit.
4. Protecting Biodiversity and Respecting Nature
Lake Maggiore and its surroundings are home to delicate ecosystems:
Respect protected areas and marked trails; do not leave the authorised paths.
Do not disturb local wildlife—keep a safe distance from wild animals and birds.
Do not light fires outside designated areas; portable stoves are recommended.
Protect plants—pick flowers and herbs only where permitted and in a sustainable manner.
Local biodiversity depends on the responsible behaviour of every guest.
5. Sustainable Mobility
Choose environmentally friendly means of transport:
Leave your vehicle parked and use public transport (Ticino Ticket), bicycles or walking to explore the area.
Many campsites (including ours) rent bicycles—take advantage of this service!
When necessary, share transport with other guests to reduce emissions.
Plan your excursions to minimise motorised travel.
Locarno and Ticino are wonderful to discover on foot or by bicycle—experience the region at nature's pace.
6. Responsible Consumption and Supporting the Local Economy
Your stay has both an economic and environmental impact:
Choose local and organic products in our catering services and nearby shops.
Support Ticino artisans and producers by purchasing authentic eco-friendly souvenirs.
Avoid plastic products—bring reusable containers (water bottles, cloth bags).
Choose biodegradable personal care products (soap, natural toothpaste, sunscreen).
With your choices, you contribute to the sustainable prosperity of the local community.
